The process of collage uses scrap materials as the pencil with which to draw new images. Collage involves selective hiding and revealing. Collage is a process of abstraction that brings new images into being that are not copies of the real world.

Anything Leads to Whatever Follows

The piece combines two very thin handmade paper pieces that form a wispy landscape. The base layer is a sheet of abaca formed in the studio with linen pulp paint and fabric scraps. The top sheet was formed using abaca, purged journal pages, and fabric scraps. The title is borrowed from John Cage. 11"h x 16"w. 2023

“Diary” reflects time, process, and the density of lived experience. The base sheet is a handmade paper piece using layers of phormium, purged notebook papers, chili pepper paper, and abaca with linen pulp paint. An excised handmade sketchbook page mounted on abaca is stitched to the base sheet. "Diary 3/24/23" $500
